About The Matrix Movies

This science fiction film series is created by the Wachowskis. This film series that was commercial success could win Academy awards. The first installment in this film series is The Matrix written and directed by the Wachowskis and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. This film was released on March 31, 1999, and could earn over $460 million worldwide, received positive reviews from the critics mainly for innovative visual effects and won Academy Awards.

The Matrix got the average score of 7.6/10 and was on the list of the greatest science fiction movies. The plot focuses on the life of Thomas A. Anderson who is a computer hacker and finds himself targeted by the police. This computer hacker learns about the role that he has against the machines after being shown the world in which humanity is captured by machines.

The second installment in The Matrix Reloaded that was released in 2003. This science fiction film in this franchise was also written and directed by the Wachowskis. Receiving positive review the film got the average score of 6.8/10 ON Rotten Tomatoes. The second installment follows the events in the first movie and the computer hacker, Neo and the rebel leaders find out that they only have 72 hours before Zion and its inhabitants get destroyed and Neo has to save Trinity.

The third installment which was also released in 2003 was The Matrix Revolutions. This film grossed approximately $427 million worldwide and got the average rating of 5.3/10 on Rotten Tomatoes based on the reviews. Many critics believed that it was a disappointing conclusion in the Matrix trilogy. The storyline continues and Zion is saved against the invasion of machines and Neo is fighting to end the war.
