About Tron
Tron: Legacy is an American science fiction action movie directed by Joseph Kosinski; the American commercial and featured film director. The screenplay is written by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and it is based on a story Horowitz, Kitsis, Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal.
Tron: Legacy is a sequel to the 1982 film Tron. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, James Frain, Beau Garrett, and Michael Sheen are among the cast of this movie. The story of the film is about a boy who is transported into a virtual reality called “The Grid,” and now must stop a program Clu trying to invade the world.
Principal photography for the film took place in Vancouver and most of the sequences of the film were shot in 3D and extensive visual effects were involved. The film premiered in Tokyo in November 2010 and it was theatrically released in December 2010 in North America.
Disney promoted the film upon multiple media platforms including consumer products, Advertising, and more. Tron received mixed reviews from the critics. Visual effect and soundtrack were praised but the performance and story were criticized. The film earned $400 million and it was a box office success. Tron holds an approval rating of 51% on the Rotten Tomatoes website. The film was nominated for an Oscar Award.
