About The Irishman
The Irishman is an upcoming crime film directed by an American-Italian filmmaker; Martin Scorsese based on a screenplay written by Steven Zaillian.
The screenplay is written based on the 2004 memoir I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. The Irishman stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci as Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, Jimmy Hoffa, and Russell Bufalino.
The Irishman is the fourth movie to star both De Niro and Pacino. The story revolves around Frank the former hitman who during World War II learned to kill serving in Italy. Frank is now recounting his alleges Job. He claims he has had a role in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, his lifelong friend.
The development of this film began in 2014 and the principal photography began in 2017 in New York City and wrapped up in 2018. The production budget dedicated to this film was $159 million. The Irishman is one of the most expensive films of Scorsese’s career.
The film was premiered at the 57th New York Film Festival on September 27, 2019. The movie is scheduled to receive a limited theatrical release followed by digital streaming by Netflix on November 27, 2019.
