About Cinema Paradiso
The story of “Cinema Paradiso” is about a child named Salvatore Di Vita. A child who loves cinema, who goes to the Paradiso cinema every day with the utmost enthusiasm and excitement, goes to the only cinema hall near his place of residence and sees the film and opens his foot to Alfredo’s room, the cinema apparatchik, as far as he can.
The screenplay, in full chronological order, depicts three parts of Tutu’s life: childhood, adolescence, and middle age. In the first part of the story, the audience knows Tutu and all his interest in cinema, and in the second part, the story of his engagement with a love that is perhaps bigger, more dangerous, more burning and, of course, more exciting than his interest in the gelatin films in the Apparatchiks’ room. The final part is about both.
