About Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike (CS) is a series of multiplayer video games. In this objective-based first-person shooter game teams of terrorists fight to perpetrate an act of terror and counter-terrorists try to prevent it. The opposing teams compete in game modes to reach the goals.
The players may get rewarded at the end of each round and by winning more round they will get more money. This game series began on Windows in 1999. This series was initially released as a modification on November 9, 2000, and for different platforms such as Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
The rights to the game’s intellectual property are acquired by Valve Corporation that is the developers of Half-Life. Counter-Strike was followed by Counter-Strike: Condition Zero that was developed by Turtle Rock Studios and initially released as a beta to members of the Valve Cyber Café Program in 2004.
Counter-Strike: Source was also released in 2004 by Valve. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the fourth game in the main series and it was released in 2012 for Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. As of August 2011, Counter-Strike has sold over 25 million units.
