Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an action-adventure game that is developed and published by studio Ninja which is a British video game development. This dark fantasy game is Self-described as an “independent AAA game”.

The game was created by a team of approximately twenty developers led Tameem Antoniades who has been the writer and the director. This game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4, in 2017, and the Xbox One version was released in 2018 and later was added to the Xbox Game Pass on December 2018.

The game provides support for virtual reality. A Nintendo Switch version was released on April 11, 2019, for this game. This game that is inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture follows a Pict warrior. The warrior must make her way to Helheim by defeating otherworldly entities and facing their challenges.

The warrior wants to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela. several genres, including hack and slash, puzzle-solving, and psychological horror are blended in this game. Hellblade was well received by the critics and it was a commercial success.

The storyline and the main characters were praised by the critics but the gameplay received some criticism. over a million copies of this game across all platforms were sold by June 2018.
