About Runner’s World

The magazine was started in 1966 by Bob Anderson in the field of news runners of all skill sets.

In 1986, he bought Rodale the Runner and two magazines, merging World Runner’s World and some authors, including Amby Burfoot, who became its editor (a post he held until 2003).

Runner’s world remained strong in the late 1990s through the so-called “running second boom.” In 2004, the magazine had a complete redesign. Since then, the magazine won numerous awards, including No. 1 on the Adweek Hot List, No. 6 on the “A-List” advertising era.

Since the early 1990s, Runner’s world has expanded beyond the United States, now with 18 international versions. The first version was a British version owned by NatMag Rodale, a joint venture between Rodale Inc. And Hearst in the United Kingdom. Copies in Argentina, Australia / New Zealand, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.
