About The Rider
Filmmaker Chloé Zhao is originally from China but has studied filmmaking in the United States. The highlight of Songs My Brothers Taught Me, as well as his new film The Rider, is the filmmaker’s mastery of the culture of the Pine Ridge region, whose films, despite being immigrants, take on a completely American atmosphere.
The film “The Rider” is based on the true story of Brady Blackburn’s life. Brady is an equestrian athlete who can no longer continue riding after suffering severe head injuries.
