About Food & Wine
The magazine was founded in 1978 by Ariane and Michael Batterberry. It publishes recipes, cooking tips, travel information, restaurant reviews, chefs, wine pairings, and seasonal / holiday content.
Classic food and wine is an annual event presented by the Food and Wine Magazine since 1986. Classics are held every June in Aspen, Colorado. The event includes wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, prominent speakers as well as a cooking contest.
The event celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2012, with singers Cisco Green, Elvis Costello, athlete Wes Walker, and Chef Bobby Flay.
Since 1988, Food and Wine have published an annual list of the top ten new chefs in the United States.
