The Blade that is a film or TV franchise was produced based on the Marvel Comics superhero named Blade. Blade (1998), Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004) were all directed by Stephen Norrington; a Belgian filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro; a Mexican filmmaker and Goyer respectively, and all were distributed by New Line Cinema.

Goyer. Wesley Snipes who is an American actor plays the title role in the movie alongside with Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, and N’Bushe Wright. This movie which was released on August 21, 1998, could be a box office success.
The production budget for Blade was of $45 million and the film could gross nearly $70 million in America and $131.2 million in total. Blade received mixed reviews from the critics and the average rating of 5.84/10 on Rotten Tomatoes. Many of the critics believed that the plot was not so perfect. Blade is a vampire hunter, a human who has Vampire powers and is trying to protect humans from vampires as he doesn’t have vampire weaknesses. Blade’s mother was bitten with a vampire when she was in labor with Blade and that’s how a Dhampir was born.
