Adolf Dassler was the founder of this company and then in 1924 his elder brother joined him and they worked under the name Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory.
Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory assisted in the development of running shoes for multiple athletic events. for the 1936 Summer Olympics, Dassler could persuade U.S. sprinter Jesse Owens to use his handmade spikes. After a breakdown in the relation between the two brothers, Adidas was created by Adolf and the other brother established Puma, which designs and manufactures athletic and casual footwear, and they became business rivals.
