His movie is based on a bestselling novel of a same written by Jeff VanderMeer and Annihilation is the first novel of his Trilogy that won Nebula. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac are the stars of this horror movie.

This movie was released theatrically on February 23, 2018, in Canada and United States by Paramount Pictures and it was released on April 13, 2018, in China. The production budget for Annihilation was between $40–55 million but in all these three countries the movie could gross $43 million. It was released on Netflix also in some other countries.

This movie could receive positive reviews for acting and direction and also visuals. The average rating that this film got on Rotten Tomatoes was of 7.73/10 and on Metacritic, it was weighted an average score of 79 out of 100.

Annihilation is the story of a group of scientists including a biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, a surveyor, and a linguist who enter into a mysterious disaster zone for a dangerous and secret expedition. But the laws of nature do not apply in this zone and they cannot find what they are expecting. This ludicrous science-fiction drama is about what happens in the calm moments between the loud, splashy sequences.
