About National Geographic
National Geographic magazine was founded in 1888. It was originally a scientific journal that was sent to 165 members of the charter and now reaches 40 million people each month. It primarily contains articles about science, geography, history, and world culture
In the late 1990s, the magazine began publishing The Complete National Geographic, a digital collection of all previous issues of the journal. He was later sued for publishing the magazine as a collective work in Greenberg v National Geographic and others and was temporarily barred from doing so. The magazine eventually overcame disagreement, and in July 2009 it resumed publishing a book that covered all topics until December 2008.
The collection was later updated to cover newer topics, and the magazine’s archive and the digital version will be made available online to magazine subscribers.
In September 2015, the National Geographic Association led the magazine to a new partnership, National Geographic Partners, in which 21st Century Fox 73% took control.
